When I was big and you were little

– Why am I not in that picture?
– Because you weren’t around back then.
– What do you mean I wasn’t around?
– You were not born yet.

– But I must have been somewhere?
– Not that I know. I guess you were somewhere else.

Anyone who has a sibling can probably relate to this book. For instance being the youngest child. No matter how many years you turn you will never catch up! Then you have to use your imagination. I wanted to write about my own fantasy of being the little sister. “When I was big and you were little” is a mantra, a game of make-believe I used to bore my older sister with.

Emma Adbåge has done an outstanding work of portraying these emotions in her drawings.
